The Skyward 150 Compact is a Canadian-designed DIY telescope kit that delivers real amateur-astronomy performance in a build that anyone can complete. Built around a 150 mm parabolic primary mirror and a simple modular structure, it offers sharp, high-contrast views while giving you a hands-on, rewarding build experience. Whether you’re exploring the Moon, planets, star clusters or classic Messier objects, this kit gives you the clarity and performance of a serious beginner-to-intermediate telescope.
The Compact version has been refined for smaller 3D printers, making it ideal for enthusiasts, families, educators, makerspaces and STEM classrooms.

• Stainless hardware: M3/M4/M5/M6 screws, T-nuts, springs, collimation thumbscrews, Teflon tape
• Optical components: 35 mm secondary mirror, spider assembly, red-dot finder mount
• Rack-and-pinion 1.25″ focuser
• 23 mm 1.25″ eyepiece (~62° field of view)
• 1.25″ laser collimator
• All required printed part designs (STL files provided)
You supply:
• A 3D printer with ~220 × 220 mm bed (or use a print service)
• ABS or ASA filament recommended for strength and stability
• ABS or PVC pipe for tripod legs
• Basic hand tools such as Allen keys, screwdriver and a small saw
• Optional: If you prefer a lower-cost spherical-mirror option, see the “Spherical Kit” variant
